I stood for a second, getting my bearings. The rushing noise in my ears was starting to die away. My skin was on fire – I needed peace, and quiet, and fresh air. I fixed my gaze on the glowing green Fire Exit sign, and pushed my way through the double doors towards the garage exit.

Something had gone wrong. The formula was too strong, the formula was far too strong. Why the hell had I taken that extra five cc's? I took a deep breath, and leant on the door-bar. It swung open and I found myself blinded by late afternoon sunshine.

Half an hour's walk, and you're home.

I set off, but even before I'd crossed the car park I could see a figure running round towards me from the main entrance. It was Piper, one of the other RAs, doing her best to run and catch me up in a pair of dressy heels that accentuated the curve of her legs, and made her bottom stick out prettily when she stopped.

Wait, what?

I felt a surge of panic. Why was I noticing that about Piper? Was this going to happen to everyone I met?

Of course it is, you idiot. That's how you designed it.

‘Gabi! Oh my god! Are you OK? What the fuck happened in there?’

I shook my head wildly, waving for her to back away.

‘Dr Spenser is freaking out! He's told us not to run after you in case we panic you, but I couldn't just let you go off like that!’

I swallowed, and watched the notch at the top of her sternum move as she panted, catching her breath. Her breasts rose and fell under the V-neck sweater. We'd worked together for more than a year. Somehow – was it from the way she held herself? The way she tucked her hair behind her left ear? – I could tell she'd never been with a woman before; but I could also see immediately that if I touched her on the back of her neck in a certain way, if I leaned in very close and whispered something into her ear, that I could make her almost as hungry for it as I was. Yes, it was all about the ears with this one...

‘...Gabi? Are you listening to me?’

A few weeks ago, I'd spent an afternoon helping her fill out the application form for a mortgage. Now I smiled and put my left arm on her shoulder. This was all instinct. I leaned in very close to the side of her head, and murmured through the strands of copper hair, ‘I'm fine, Piper.’ My mouth brushed her earring; I stayed where I was and licked my bottom lip. ‘I just got all warm and horny, and I need to make myself come now.’ And I pushed my tongue very gently into her ear, just half an inch or so, before leaning back again.

Piper had taken a huge gasp of breath, and her eyes shut instinctively. My head buzzed with power: I could see exactly how she needed me to take the lead.
